I attend a small arts school which does NOT have adequate college counseling at all. in my sophomore year i won a selective scholarship to live abroad for a year but never knew that the Junior year SAT decided the NMFs, and that becoming an NMF would enable me to get more scholarships. I didn't recieve any scholarships from USC but I feel like this had something to do with it... I had very high PSAT scores and a 2240 sat score (800CR/680M/770WR). could i have gotten a dean or university scholarship if i were a nmf (4.0/4.3 as well?) or was it just really cut throat and i didn't have a shot anyways?

If you were NM you wouldve gotten a 1/2 tuition scholarship, but it wasnt a sole factor in the scholarships they gave out. I got full-tuition without having national merit (208 PSAT; 2310 SAT).

Stepbrother got 1/2 tuition with no NM, higher SAT score.

Scholarships are unpredictable and are based off of a lot of aspects of your application, it seems to me.

I thought my stepbrother deserved at least as much as I got.
