Importance of Extracurricular Activities

Hi, everyone. :)
** How important are extracurricular activities for getting into a good college? **

Can you give me an idea of where these 3 students are standing in terms of getting in a good college?

Case A: No extracurricular activities. Is this truly bad or is it not too important?

Case B: A student is in 10 different clubs/sports but doesn't have leadership positions/achievements?

Case C: A student has one OUTSIDE of school extracurricular activity that he/she excels in.

It completely depends on the target colleges. The bulk of US colleges place no to extremely little emphasis on ECs, mostly admitting students based on GPA/Transcript/Test scores.

Case C probably has the best chance at a prestigious college, assuming their grades are stellar as well. Case A probably has nice grades, but a slim chance due to their lack. Colleges can see that B is just fluffing their application. Basically, A and B should be looking at state colleges. C would have the best chance somewhere prestigious.
