Importance of Harvard Interview?

Hi!
How much importance does Harvard place on the interview? Do most of the students who are accepted have interviews?
For example, if two similar candidates were compared and one had an interview while the other didn’t, would Harvard rather select the candidate that had an interview?

Hello, welcome to CC! If you use the search function or go through the threads, you would have seen similar threads like yours. Simply put, not having an interview will NOT hurt you by any means unless they offer one and you decline it. Depending on your status as either a domestic student or international student when applying the matter is very different. However, overall the answer is that not offered an interview means that there is not enough alumni in the area to cover the interview process. Interview is only a part of the whole process. However, according to the “anecdotes” on the forum, in the international pool due to very limited number of interviewers, they often prescan the application and offer interviews to those that have the most potential. That’s just from anecdotes, the Harvard website does not say anything.

I do have a question about the transcript. Do they take a look at your regents grade on your transcript?

They will look at your OFFICIAL transcript from your Freshman to Senior year.
