Hey what do you guys think about the importance of senior year grades in the admissions process?

i hope they're not too important, mine are so much worse than junior year grades. colleges only see first term with my second term grades right?

They look at them to make sure that they don't get worse (senioritis). They may rescind if they drop a lot.

ahh im in the same boat...im trying so so hard but my classes are just THAT much harder.

I'm doing badly in my classes, not because of senioritis, but because of all the emotional stuff and stress going on in my life so far, especially stuff related to colleges...

...My calc grade dropped six points... :(

Do you think they would recalculate our GPAs?

Ahhh I'm worried about this. I'm doing well in all my classes except Calculus... which is going to be fairly low. I hope it's ok.

Yeah same here, they know it's an AP and that it's difficult so no worries.

What's considered fairly low? A B? An A-?

AP Calc is so hard...

I always had a 95ish in precalc, and now I have an 80 in AP Calc (which is a B+ because my teacher makes adjustments). PLus my teacher seriously sucks.

I usually don't post in this part of the forum, but I thought I'd chime in since I just wrote a blog entry about this topic today.

I'm addressing the importance of the senior year curriculum in that post. When it comes to grades, it's not unusual to see a slight dip when students step up the challenge level in their curriculum.

I'm with a lot of you guys on this...I'm doing rather well in all my classes except for AP Calc. In precalc i had a 98 and now in ap i have a 86...=( what a drop...

Try to maintain a B+ average. Besides the semester is not over yet, there is room for improvement.

ugh, I really hope they don't matter too much... My mom is now *****ing about how she worries my grades are too low...

first semester is important
