Is it important to take AP Calculus in advance of applying to highly selective colleges? In other words, is it important when applying to, say Ivies, MIT or Cal Tech, to take Calculus as a junior? Or is it perfectly okay to take it as a senior? My daughter has the opportunity to accelerate past Pre-Calc this summer, but pursuing this will obviously tradeoff with other possible pursuits.Thanks in advance for your help.
If her current math progression, taking a math course every year but not during the summers, leads to calculus in 12th grade, that should be fine.

Of course, be aware that the chance of admission to the most selective schools is very low, regardless of what math courses the applicant has completed.
