importance of UG school for admission

Respectfully, I think the OP may have missed a fundamental point. Assume GPA is viewed based on the college attended and the rigor of courses. If you go to XYX Community College and then transfer to Harvard for your junior year, a law school admissions officer is NOT going to view your two years of grades at XYX as if they were earned at Harvard. Now, some may think that all colleges are viewed alike--a gpa is a gpa. I don't happen to think that's true, but if it were transferring wouldn't help.

Assume that the undergrad college does matter. Assuming the OP wants to go directly to law school, transferring to a more prestigious college isn't really going to help that much--and may hurt if the gpa falls. Two-thirds of the gpa law schools will consider will still be based on the college(s) the OP has already attended. The OP's app won't be treated as if (s)he'd spent all three years at BC or whatever college (s)he transfers to.
