<p>I posted this in the cornell section too, but i just want to get it in as many places as possible...</p>
<p>I currently attend Northeastern University in Boston, MA - not exactly the top of the barrel. I belong at a more prestigious school (i have the SAT scores and the GPA to prove it). I am considering applying to Cornell and Boston College as a transfer student. I plan on attending law school after gradauation, and I was just wondering if a transfer is worthwhile...will having an undergrad degree from Cornell be signifcantly more beneficial than Northeastern in regard to getting into a good law school or getting a job later in life? What about BC? Further, how much more beneficial is going to Cornell than going to Boston College in the job market? I love Boston and don't want to leave, but I would consider it for an ivy. The catch is that I transfered to Northeastern after my freshmen year, and I don't know if two transfers will decrease my chances at law school admissions as well. Any advice?</p>
<p>You will need very good reasons to transfer again, as you might look fickle. Just make sure that you can articulate why you want the change. Don't mention access to law school or reputation, as many people would like to trade upwards. Concentrate on why the transfer schools would be a better fit for you and for the university.</p>
<p>If you do well, then law school admissions should not be a problem from Northeastern. Not sure why you would give up Boston for upstate NY, but that's just me.</p>
<p>BC and Cornell are both good schools, and law school is more important than undergrad, if you're worried about a job. Keep in mind that after your first job, the school you graduate from is far less important than performance on the job--especially in law.</p>

<p>and law schools won't really care that you transferred twice if you're going to a better school. i also transferred twice and i don't regret it at all.</p>
<p>i went to northeastern for the co-op, and its the only reason I might stay here. Its also part of the reason i want to transfer though, as students here seem much more interested in co-oping and they are in classes. that is to say the academic excitement here is virtually non existent, as far as i have seen. although they don't have co-op, do you think i would have great internship oppurtunites through BC as well? possibly better than at NU?</p>
