I sent my October ACT score the day I got it (11/10). I sent it as a standard shipment, rather than express. I didn’t specify Cornell when I signed up for the ACT so I had to manually pay for it and send it. The express was unavailable at the time, and when it was, a few days later, I had already sent my report. I had my counselor send an unofficial screenshot of my score to Cornell. I had also previously noted that I would be sending the October ACT on my Common AP. This is important because my September ACT was a 29 and my October was a 33. I’m really worried that Cornell has or will make a decision based on my 29. They DON’T want duplicates of anything so I didn’t want to send it again express. What do I do?
Call admissions and ask if they received your October score. Only they can advise you on what to do. It’s a legitimate concern.
I’m pretty sure that if they already read your application (and made a decision), it’s too late.
@seniorlife555 I had specified that I would be taking the October Test. Since the 29 isn’t terrible, wont they wait until they receive my new score?
@Geocach I had the exact same problem with you so I asked the admission officers. They said that if they already saw your scores and reviewed your application, they’ll make a decision based on that. I doubt that they’ll make a “revised decision” based on your new scores.
I would be worried if they were November scores, but October scores should be seen for ED. Why don’t you call them instead of driving yourself crazy?
You’re fine. Only the NOV scores are at any issue (usually not, either). Stop worrying.
@Renomamma Thanks, I just heard that pestering admissions will only upset them. I was hoping to solve it without bugging them. My main concern was that they would pull up my application and make a decision based on my September score, instead of waiting for my October one. Thanks for the reassurance.
@T26E4 So are they just making decisions on apps that are complete?
I’m saying your OCT scores are probably in and will be considered.
Agree with T26E4 above. Don’t let people scare you; October test scores are fine, November scores are not guaranteed. So, you should be fine. But if it’s a burning question for you, it might be worth a pestering phone call.
