<p>Okay so I need advice.</p>

<p>I have been given the contact information for the woman who will be reading my application first. Like the regional admissions officer for the university. </p>

<p>And I want to send her an email, introducing myself, etc.</p>

<p>But I don't want to overkill AT ALL. I absolutely hate sucking up, and I think it often works in reverse. So is there anything I can say, or ask her that would be beneficial?</p>
