I go to a service academy and I have almost completed my second year and I will have close to 90 credits. Im assuming some wont transfer to other colleges so I may have, conservativly 70. I am planning on transfering for next spring.

So my question is:

Many schools say that will accept no more that 60 credits. Does this mean that I cannot transfer or will my credits just be trimmed down?

Thanks a lot for any help. I really need it.

BAFS16,
Wow. That is a lot of credits for two years in an academy. Why do you think that some of your credits won’t transfer? Are they service-based?
If you transfer, you will be transferring as a Junior - Spring semester, correct?
If a school says that it won’t accept more than 60 credits, it means that you can transfer to the school, but only 60 of your credits will transfer over. This is usually so that you can spend a significant amount of time at your new school, rather than just coming in and getting a Certificate of Graduation from a school you just got to.
I’d call each school and explain the situation, and most likely they will be able to answer all of your questions.
I don’t think having too many credits will hinder your ability to transfer in any way.

Good luck and please let us know how it goes!
