Important Update Regarding Your Columbia Login Information????

I got one email from Columbia yesterday with all the PIN and stuff but today I get another mail with an updated PIN!!!

Quote:

Given some technical issues with our application decision module, please disregard the numbers sent to you yesterday. We are confirming that your original PIN number and Columbia ID number (both listed above) are correct and will allow you to access your decision next week.

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO GOT THIS MAIL????????

I am freaking out thinking that they suddenly changed my intended decision!!

AM I BEING PARANOID???????

Don’t worry, I got it too. I was a little concerned, but if you check the FIRST email they send you after completing your application, it is the same pin. So it seems like they set up a pin for you, then it changed by mistake, and now they’re reverting back to the original one

Yes…I AM BEING PARANOID AFTER ALL!!

Thanks a ton!

Dont worry about it. I got both emails. The pin number stuff on the first one were apparently wrong. If you look at the second one, those are the numbers we got when we applied and stuff. Apparently the numbers on the first one were due to a problem on their system, which they fixed and therefore they sent us a new email with the correct info.

:)

I should have checked it properly before freaking out!!!

Thanks liz

Oh and since we are discussing my paranoia…

Did any of you try logging in to the site mentioned??

Because when I do…nothing happened!! I guess the site would only respond on April 1!

I could log in when I used the PIN that I used for ED, which is the same one that was sent with the correction e-mail today. However, there wasn’t really anything to see, just something saying that decisions will be up April 1 at 5 pm.

i just found my email… it was in my spam FFS. good job spam filter…

I guess we will be able to check the admission decision of another student if we use the ID and PIN in the first e-mail…

haha i wonder what would happen ^^

well, we need the password to access the page anyway, so I don’t think we can check other’s admission decision XD

Just for fun-I went to the admitted student’s website and tried to log in. I’m sure they’re a lot smarter than that. But, fun while it lasted.

This is a little sketchy… kind of a big mistake to make right before decisions are going to be released! But hopefully everything is fine now, right? haha

R124687: did you request a new password once you got to the “this is the wrong password” page?

Haha plumdum…you are actually trying that???

And forsterpeep…I guess it was some random tech fault…happens…but it scared me like hell…I was SO SURE that they had changed my decision all of a sudden!!
