Impressions of a freshman... so far!

thanks ksanders.

did you start in the fall or summer? was it hard to adjust to the campus size?

I started in the fall. I came from a relatively small high school (about 120 seniors -- i attended a much larger high school for my freshman and sophomore years), so it was quite a bit different. I didn't really have trouble adjusting since I found it very easy to make friends (although i participated in PAACT for 3 days before classes started) and get around.

Walking through Turlington Plaza or Plaza of the Americas during the middle of the day sure does make you feel like just a number though :)

@ ksanders,

What is Yulee like? Lots of parties or on the quiet side or in the middle? More upperclassmen or more freshman? Lots of frat or soro types? Time to classes? Bathroom situation? Would you prefer another dorm?

I would say the floor I live on in Yulee (which is not a full floor.. only about 8 rooms) hovers between the middle and quiet. Everyone on my floor is a freshman. I wouldnt classify anyone on the floor as the "frat" type. You'll have no problem getting to classes on time. For instance, I have a class in anderson hall (near university ave.) and i can leave 10-12 minutes before class starts and still arrive on time. Since I live on a smaller floor, the bathroom situation isnt bad at all. You can take a shower/use the bathroom anytime you'd like. there are two stalls and two showers.

After all that being said, no, I wouldnt prefer another dorm. The people I've met here have become some of my best friends. I've already found roommates for next year
