I read everywhere that if you are scoring in the 1500-1700 range it is easier to go up to a 2000 then it is to go up from 2000 to 2200-2400. I got a very low score on the PSATs (1500). I don't need help with math, but I completly suck at English (both Writing and Reading- Ouchhh). What can I do to impove my reading and writing scores (please do not just tell me to practice; becuase I do practice; I need inside information). My goal is to score an 1800.

study vocab like mad...people say it doesn't help, but if you royally suck at the CR, then it can raise your score to at least above a 600.

At this score range, I think you shouldn't start practicing just yet. You need to develop strategies that consistently work for you. I would recommend looking at Princeton Review or Kaplan techniques. Then you can start working on the practice tests.

Is the PR and the Kaplan better then the CB (blue) book? I only have the CB book and I am planning on getting either PR or Kaplan. Are PR/Kaplan similar to CB (if they are different...How?)...

Thanks for the help guys and keep the tips coming and I will review, review, review, review, practice.......

i personally like PR books, and i scored well on the SAT.
i cant say theyre miracle workers, but theyll set your head straight.

Hey Mr.Patel. I am in the same situation as you. I also scored in the 1500's on the PSAT, and I want to raise that to an 1800 by May. CR and Writing is my worse sections too. We are so alike!!!

why only aim for a 1800? You shouldn't doubt yourself, that's the first step to failure. Believe me, your score will increase more if you aim for (and believe you can get) a perfect score. I know it is unrealistic and all, but there is no reason not to aim for it. That's what I did, cut myself no slack.

Raised my score from a 1600 to a 2200. Raised my SATII MathII from 650 to 800, SATII BioE from 650 to 770, and 29 ACT to 33.

I love you man....Your story inspires me. I thought I was the only CC memeber who didn't get an amzing score (2000+).
