Improving 12 grade final result to transfer to US

I am a currently studying in India. I plan on transferring to an American university. I graduated from high school in 2013 after giving the board exams (final exams of the 12 grade) held in March 2013, and I am currently studying in an Indian university which has a curriculum based on the American system. My board exam percentage was not very good as I got only an 81%. In India students have the option to take improvement exams (that will be held in March 2014) to improve their scores in the board exams. The improved marks are declared as a separate mark sheet. I want to improve my marks so that I can increase my chances of getting into a good university. If I take the exam I am certain that I will be able to do better in every subject, than I did in my first attempt .In this case when I apply as a transfer at the end of my first year in my current university, will my improved scores be recognized or do the American colleges only consider the original scores.
