improving act score

I got the following scores:
composite:30
reading:32
english:33
maths:30
science:25
I used the following books:
barrons act 36
the real act prep guide.
what should i do to improve my score by atleast 4 points.
should i buy other books like princeton review cracking the act or princeton review 1296 act questions or should i go through barrons act 36 and the real act prep guide
once again.

If you’ve only taken it once, try again…getting the timing down is important…BUT 4 points is ALOT on the ACT and you might only see 1 or 2 points. In your case looks like you need to focus on taking one or two of the science section practice tests and try again. The ACT is a test of diminishing return…taking it over and over and over is not necessarily going to run your score up…you may go up in one subsection, down a point in another. A 30 composite is quite good.

My older D went up 4 points when she took it for the second time, but she had a lower score than you on her first test. The higher your score the harder it is to increase. The most important factor in the ACT is getting the timing down. My D15 is taking it again on Feb 8 and I do not think she will go up because she is starting with a high score already. She takes practice sections on the weekends.
