Improving SAT score tips?

So, yes, I know it’s very difficult to raise your SAT score by more than an average of 50 pts from your first time, but, it cannot be impossible, right? I’m trying to improve my high 1900 to a high 2200. I hired an SAT tutor, I have Dr. Chungs Math tips, Erica Meltzers SAT grammar guide, and Direct hits vol 1 and vol 2 as well as 2 blue collegeboard books and a Princeton Review SAT book. I am scheduled to take the March and June SAT. If you’d be so kind, if you’ve improved your SAT score, or have any positive insight concerning improving your score, would you mind sharing it below?

Math was my highest score at a 700, I want to bump it into the high 700’s.
CR I got a 640 I want to bump it to 700
and Writing I got a 640 (9 Essay), I was hoping to bump this to high 700’s as well.

Thanks!

I raised my score by 400 points from October to December. 1610 to 2000. It’s very possible to raise your score by more than 50 points, you just gotta do the work. What Ive learned is that your nerves on test day contribute 50% to how well you do and that’s the best tip I could give you! Also, focus on vocabulary and go through as many math practice sections as you can. Good luck!

So you think not being nervous, and being confident on test day is beneficial? I also had a proctor who made abrupt noises in the middle of my reading passages lol

yeah, I got a 2100 on my SAT and the biggest part is not psyching yourself out about it. You have to realize that you know all the answers. They’re there in your head and you have enough time to answer every single question. Don’t think of the SAT as big or intimidating. Also, I really recommend not talking about anything to do with the SAT right before you start or during the breaks. Literally just take that time to drink water or get fresh air. Relaxing through the test is gonna boost your score big time.

Thanks sarah! I’ll try to relax a bit more. I’ve just never been the best at relaxing … I just feel like I should score higher on the SAT to make up for my physics grade, lol.

I’ll agree with the others; you can improve your score if you put the work in. Although this is not strictly “real” sat tests, I feel as if it applies here. A short anecdote: I took the PSAT in sophomore year, I scored 170. This year, my junior year, in the recent fall I scored a 189 on the PSAT. Just a few days ago, I took my first SAT and by my best estimate I scored between 2050-2200, an improvement of ~200 points in just a few months of study, and it was hardly dedicated study.
