In desperate need of advice

I applied to the School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania because I want to do the Advanced Practice Nursing Program whereby after establishing myself as a professional in that field I'd be able to pursue journalism or communications at say the Annenberg School for Communications. My dilemma is that when I initially applied I wasn't wholeheartedly into it. I wasn't truly invested in the application process, but after recently learning of my parents' financial standing I realized that I should have taken it a bit more seriously. I should've emailed the representative of the program as I had been advised to do by a lady whom I had met at a meeting for the program last year. I should've tried for an interview...

What I'm asking is if I should bother her now or if I should just leave it be?

Btw, my SAT 1 score is 2160 (800 reading, 720 writing, 640 math), SAT 2s (730 literature, 670 biology, 660 u.s. history). I'm involved in typical student run activities, have a few solid leadership positions, have received innumerable honors/awards, and am an African-American female. Also, my mother works as a nurse at the Hospital of UPenn so she could receive some financial help if I did get accepted...HELP me please!

Why not? It certainly won’t hurt.

Did Penn Nursing ask if you wanted an interview and did you somehow blow it off? I know that for the other Penn colleges, whether or not you get an interview is somewhat random.

From another thread it appear that nursing decisions will be out on Feb. 19th. At this point, I doubt that they will give you an interview. You have two options–you could email the program rep and say that U Penn is your first choice and you were wondering whether it is too late to update them on some new accomplishments since your application (assuming you have any) or you could just wait and see what happens.

Well I just emailed her a couple of hours ago and I basically wrote that my latent interest in the program has basically been revived and if she had any advice for me? I didn’t say that Upenn was my no. 1 but I did say that I really am deeply interested about one of the options the program presents. Should I update her on my recent accomplishments (they’re pretty big)?
