-your community involvement is a great hook!

One thing that I really want to preface this with is that admissions are an ABSOLUTE crapshoot. Some people with 2400s don’t get in. Some schools value hooks more than other, more concrete skills. I got into Harvard, but was flat-out rejected by Yale and Princeton. But anyway, ON WITH THE CHANCING!

As many others have said, it’s hard to chance without SATs. Supposing a 2250+, though, many of these schools would admit you. U of C is finicky because of the importance of your essays, and the Ivies are finicky in general. Unfortunately, being Asian, you’re in an extremely competitive pool, which might make things difficult for you. However, the best advice I can give you is to stay positive and don’t freak if something goes awry.

Nevertheless, your ECs are good, and your community involvement looks great. Tell a unique story in your essays that’ll get you noticed (I wrote about running on an anti-chicken platform in Grade 9 and how public transportation has affected my life). Like I said, be positive, and know you’ll do great in life no matter what.

lol thanks very much! My family is applying for canadian citizenship…might be done b4 admission season comes around. If I become a canadian :D, will it help?

Oh. In that case I’m not really sure. Being an international will probably make it a lot harder to get into U.S. colleges, since most colleges delegate only a limited number of seats to non domestic students in general.

oh i see. Thanks xrCalico23! Although I think it might be easier to be compared with the Canadian pool than the American pool just because of the different opportunities in each country…XD
