in need of advice from current Vassaronians

i have currently received notification from a sports team at vassar that i will be accpeted into the school as long as i apply early decision. it is not my first choice, and there are other schools that i feel may better prepare me for my intended future. what makes vassar stand out to you guys from other schools that are more widely known?

This may sound trite (because it's repeated so often on this board), but it's true: if you want widely known, go to Penn State. If you want widely respected, then, you can't do better than a top LAC, which Vassar is.

It's like the difference between Old Navy and a prized boutique; everyone's heard of the former and you can probably find some decent bargains. But for something that will last the life of the wearer, you do the research and you find the really good brands. This is the single most useful service USNews performs every year, highlighting extremely high-quality colleges that may not be household names.

vassaronians? We were never called that. Vassarians maybe, vassaronians..never.

amen jym626. damn straight. go brewers. that is all.

Vassar students are called Vasserions. Kathleen, Vassar '79. Mother of a '07 student.

kathleen-
I believe that is a typo. I am also an alum (a few yrs before you :) ) a "Vassarion"

Actually, maybe it's "vassarian". The other, "Vassarion" is the name of the yearbook!
