Hey all,
I'm originally from Georgia, but moved to Massachusetts to attend UMass. Well that didn't go so well (out of state tuition...) so I transferred to a CC (in MA) as an in state student.

Now that I'm getting ready to transfer, I'm thinking about moving back to GA and applying to Georgia Tech as one of my many schools. My question is though, will I be able to get in state tuition still? I grew up in Georgia, but have lived in MA for 4 years now.

I know that there is a separate application for in state/out of state, but my dad is convinced they'll give me in state tuition.

Thanks!

I’ll be referencing California in state / out of state tuition rules but they ask if your personal effects are in the home state or current state. Also residency over a year (or two i think) determines your state of residency.

Also did you get a car or sign a lease? If you did that in Mass, that probably means you’re a Mass student… Might be better off going to UMass or something.

Awesome, thanks for the response.

Only my drivers license is in MA, my car is still registered in Georgia. I am currently at a school as an in state student (in MA), but like I said, no leases or anything (living with family).

Also, most of my schools are other out of states, but are private (so fingers crossed that I don’t end up at UMass again…)

Thanks again!
