in the CR section...

when it comes down to reading a passage and answering the question, what do u guys do? idk y but i tend to look at the questions first and looking back into the passage since im not that fast of a reader and it takes time for me to digest wat i read. plus, i still have the vocab to deal with. i would like to know some of the strategies u cc people use when it comes down to that part of the cr section.

I skim the passages.
then
I answer the questions that refer me to lines
then
I answer theme questions.
then
I fall asleep.

:]

I read the passages, spending about 3-6 minutes per massage, depending on the length.

Then answer the questions.

You probably shouldn't focus that much on vocab right now, but rather on practice tests..

Keep doing the practice tests and eventually something will click and you will start answering most of the passage questions correctly (this is what happened to me).

People take different approaches, which work for different people. Find one that works for you and stick with it...

Read the passage first without a doubt. Actually you should mark up the passage before that, but don't start fooling with the actual questions until you've read the passage once.

When you read the passage, you're almost skimming: read every word, but don't take too much time, don't get hung up on details. Just get a feel. You'll be looking back for details later when you answer the questions. When you get to the questions, skip around so you can find the easiest questions and do them first. Don't get stuck on any one question. Accept the fact that you are not going to and don't even need to get every answer right and the test becomes a lot easier.

As long as you do this reliable method the same way every time for every reading passage, you won't have to worry about running out of time. Sure it is possible to get them all right by going backwards reading the questions first, but it's like swimming upstream, it actually requires more work and mental energy. Keep it simple.

i read the Q,but not hte choices, refer to the lines, do some thinking, and i start eliminating the choices. some people read passages first ; everyone is diff, pick something that suits u. however, reading the choices(i assume u are doing this) is a bad idea, it'll confuse u i think

I read the entire passage very closely, and then answer the questions.
