I was wondering what kind of things worked for you for the CR section. Sometimes when the passages are too long, I find myself re-reading parts of it just to answer one question. I usually scan the questions first then read the passage and answer the questions along the way...but I'd like to see what other "strategies" there are to improve on this section.

I dont read the passage at all.
Just go to the questions -> go directly to where it is in the passage.
As you do the specific questions, you'll get a sense of the passage.

When it comes to theme questions, just read the intro, first sentence of each paragraph, and the conclusion.

I'm pretty straightforward with reading.
I read the passage and then answer the questions.
I think a lot of it is getting used to the format of the CR.
This approach might not be the best for you though. I finish with barely 2 minutes left per section, because I divide my time like this: 3-4 minutes on vocab, 3-4 minutes on the short passages, 3-5 minutes on the long passages and then the rest for the questions. Though on the section with two separate passages I spend about 3 minutes on each of those, since they are shorter than the long passage of the single passage CR section.
