In the military, need college advice.

<p>So I've almost been in the military for a year, now that I'm almost settled. I was wondering the best online colleges to enroll in. Since I'm active duty. It'll be sort of a challenge to actually attend classes. So if someone could give some good advice on online majors and how accepted are they by grad schools, ect..</p>

<p>I’m in the military (army). I will be graduating later this year with a Bachelor’s from Thomas Edison State College. I need only one more class to complete the degree. I did this mostly by passing CLEP and DSST/DANTES exams since I’ve been on active duty. They are free to all military personnel. I passed 5 of them in 20 days in March of this year, earning 24 credits. This cost me the gas I burned driving to the testing center and back. This is the best educational opportunity there is right now.</p>

<p>Before I can give you more specific advice, I need to know some things about you.</p>

<p>How old are you? What branch of service? What is your MOS? What do you want to do when you get out (if you get out)? Do you have any college credits right now?</p>

<p>I’m 19, navy, sonar tech, and I would like to a history professor. I know I need my masters and further schooling. Just want to know how to get started. I’m only deployed up to 90 days at a time.</p>

<p>You may not want to hear this, but that’s very bad choice. There is a huge surplus of PhDs in the United States. This began in 1969, and has not abated. There are too many professorial job candidates chasing too few tenured track positions.</p>
