Incident at Revelle College

<p>This is what I received in my email today:</p>

<p>Dear Revelle Residents, </p>

<p>Many of you may or may not know that a serious incident occurred early
this morning at Revelle College in parking lot 104. A non-affiliate of
UCSD took his own life while parked in his vehicle. The UCSD Police
Department responded immediately and is currently investigating the
incident. The individual posed no immediate threat to the campus
community and no students were injured in the incident. Students that
were impacted have been provided with support through our psychologist
staff from the university's Psychology and Counseling Services office.</p>

<p>I found it shocking, though I know it does happen occasionally. Who knows, could it be possible that the person was a UCSD reject? Sad stuff.</p>

<p>now this has me thinking because when my best friend and I visited the campus a couple weeks go, we read the current school paper (which we always do at our prospective colleges) and the lead story was about the death of a non-UCSD student that was found dead in the price center. It was likely murder as he had the same name as a student that exposed hazing rituals at one of the school's fraternities. The victim, someone that had no friends or any apparent relationship with UCSD was killed because they thought he was the one that snitched to administration about the hazing...</p>

<p>well, at least they decided to only take their own life. i know that sounds bad, but all they had to do was get out of their car and there could have been another virginia tech.</p>

<p>I think that newspaper article you read Feesha was part of an April Fool's edition of the school newspaper.</p>

<p>Feesha, you got fooled. Note that the newspaper was the DISREGARDian and the date was 4/1.</p>

<p>and about the student in the parkinglot...my friend and i were up all night writing our hum essays...and somewhere around 12-1.30 the guy was in his car and shot himself in the head...</p>

<p>how quiet the school has kept it kinda upsets me, i wouldnt want the kids family to be exposed or any of that..but still i thought id see something in the news following in the next few days</p>

<p>my friend and i def had a hard time finishing our essays...since the cops made a crime scene right outside the dorms..i think the fact that the kid wasnt a ucsd student has made it easier for them to keep it quite</p>

<p>a few of my other friends i think might have witnessed it..they were very very upset, and ive seen them talking to deans...so..i dont want to ask them because thats something i cant possibly help by asking</p>
