Including a pic with essay

Can I do it? It's definitely important to the essay itself, but it's supposed to be words only (although it doesn't specifically say no pictures), and it says only a page long. If I'm submitting electronically, could I just throw the picture in at the top, then make sure the actual essay is only a page in length? Thanks!

Anyone have any ideas if this'll fly?

if you have the chance to send in a pic, i definitely would. I sent in a picture with an application for an internship (though it wasn't required) and during the summer of my junior, i landed my first job in our nation's capitol. It may not have played a huge part, but it did add a little something to my app, so just go for it.

I don't see why it wouldnt be allowed.
i would put it before the essay just to make sure.

Can I ask why youre attaching a picture?

If it says words only, then send words only. Does the evaluation, "Cannot follow directions" seem like a good one to you?

If it's the CommonApp Personal Statement, could I include a pic then? It says:

This personal statement helps us become acquainted with you in ways different from courses, grades, test scores, and other objective data. It will demonstrate your ability to organize thoughts and express yourself. We are looking for an essay that will help us know you better as a person and as a student. Please write an essay (250 words minimum) on a topic of your choice or on one of the options listed below.

yes! if pics were allowed! i would put a pic!

Essay means WORDS. It does not mean pictures. You write an essay. If there is a supplement, like an arts supplement, put it there. If you need to upload a picture, put it in Additional Information.

From an adult: Do not put a picture in your essay. Or your "Personal Statement". Period.

Thanks, Cheva.
