Incoming freshman listed as a sophomore

So during high school I took tons of community college classes to get GEs and all that good stuff. I have about 46.5 credits.

I just checked my URSA and I'm listed... as a sophomore. Should I slightly be alarmed at this? Does this affect anything?

Thanks guys!

No it’s fine, nothing to be alarmed at! You’ll get to enroll slightly earlier than the freshmen who are listed as freshmen. I don’t think it’ll hurt you in anyway.

Hi, where can you check this information? is it listed under degree progress report?

On URSA, column on the left “Academic” and click on “View Registration Status”.

where did u read that u were a sophomore on ursa?

o ok thanks

thanks!!!

yea relax; i came in with 44.5 units and was sophomore status too. i’m not sure how i got the .5 from though…

Semester –> quarter translation of units doesn’t always work in whole numbers.

oh, and on that note - if you find yourself 0.5 units away from satisfying a requirement due to this issue, just go to the letters and sciences window in Murphy and they’ll just “give” you the .5 units. (although you can’t do this until you’re about to graduate)

I took care of an arts requirement with a course I took at a CC in high school, and I was .5 units away from satisfying the arts requirement, so I had to do this - its easy; no paperwork or anything.

Yeah, I checked on DPR and it said Sophomore status. I was so weirded out when I saw, hahaha.

arklogic, I know that only credits transfer and not the grades themselves. Would this mean my GPA can totally screw up when taking the more difficult classes, since other freshmen would have the easy GE A’s to balance them out?
