Hey, I’m going to Boston University next year. I applied as a CAS History major, but I recently changed my mind and I want to do a Business Major on a pre-med track.

How would I ask the University if I can transfer?

Hey, I’m going to Boston University next year. I applied as a CAS History major, but I recently changed my mind and I want to do a Business Major on a pre-med track.

How would I ask the University if I can transfer?

send an email to admissions asking them

No don’t even send an email, just call up the admissions office and let them know ASAP. I did this my freshman year, I had done an school transfer from CAS to ENG. It may take them a day to give you a response or even just a few minutes. Just do it before your orientation or it makes everything a hassle.

I did the same thing a few months before starting school. I switched from ENG to CAS. It took them a few days, and I recall that they said it had to be approved by the “admissions committee”, but it should be fine.

I already signed up for orientation for CAS, but the problem is that I don’t have time for any of the SMG sessions, so that’s why I was wondering if I can do it during orientation.

All the orientations, CAS, ENG, SMG are on the same days… so it doesn’t matter, they’ll just switch what group you are in.

Anyways did you even call? If you’d like to put it off till the last day that’s your prerogative (the groups are based off what schools you are in). So it’s easier to call them and let them know ahead of time.
