Incoming Koreans?

is anyone gonna be in korea for the summer?
im staying here for most of the year so i thought i might get to know some people before i get to ucsd.

And the neophobic exclusivity begins

^Yep. Sigh.

… read what he posted before you talk about neophobia

he’s in korea, so he wants to meet people in korea who are coming to ucsd. it’s not exclusive, its just 99% of people in korea are actually korean.

Well if you put the title and body together, the OP wants to meet Koreans who are in Korea for the summer. Not just anyone.

Hmmm so that’s what it’s called. I’ve noticed this a lot too, especially with students from towns where the racial makeup is pretty homogeneous.

lol, that was not my intention at all.
i honestly don’t care what race… i just wanted to see if id be able to get to know anyone before classes start

what’s your point astrina? 99% of the people in korea are korean. he wants to know if anyone in korea this summer is coming to ucsd. obviously it’s easier to type in “incoming koreans” rather than “incoming people from korea.” ur reading too much into this ****.

no the op is actually a cia agent trying to get all the korean spies to unveil themselves.

Not to defend neophobic exclusivity, but keep in mind there may also be a language barrier and that the OP may not feel comfortable with their english just yet and would just like to know people that they can communicate with in the Korean language

LOL sorry guys i didn’t mean for this to turn into a big argument.

i don’t struggle with the language since my first language is English, but thanks a lot for trying to back me up hahah
like i said before though, i’d just like to meet some people before i go off since i’m going to know literally no one once i get there…

^ haha most of us were in your shoes when we started out (not knowing anyone). Don’t worry about it. You’ll be fine.

I like how everyone refers to him/her as “the op” lol.

OP stands for ‘original post(er)’.

I know Berkeley has comprehensive statistics on their student body (race, financial aid, first gen., etc.,). Does UCSD have the same data available to the public? I am curious.

edit: I found it. Sorry for the useless post. Here is the link if anyone else is curious-- <a href=“Undergraduate Statistics”>Undergraduate Statistics;

I know :P. I just think it’s funny that we’re not referring to the OP as Leehanjin.

And the hostility towards neophobic exclusivity begins

That’s because its easier for other posters.

UCSD yi salamun modu SNSDfan ji? kekeke

I’m incoming and I am in korea until sept
