Increase from 1840 - 2200+ possible??

My PSAT:
(9th) - 140
(10th) - 187
(11th) - 205
Nov. 2011 SAT - 2210
Mar. 2012 SAT - So far -0 in Math/Writing from what I have read on the discussions, so most likely mid 2200s.

You have to realize that a few silly mistakes can bring your score from an 800 to the mid 600s. I studied for a good 5-6 weeks before I took the PSAT junior year. The night before the test, I took last year’s PSAT and scored a 229. I flopped the next day on a few simple questions and got a 205, so no NMSF for me lol. I didn’t touch any SAT books after that, and I scored 2210 on the November SAT and am hoping for higher on the March one I just took.

My advice would be to take Writing/Math sections 50+ times each, until you can answer every question with confidence. They are the easiest to learn. Once you can nail 800 in both, work on vocabulary.

I never spent any time working on CR because I just suck at it lol. I’ve yet to break 700, but I can easily nail 800 in writing and math.

Good luck. You can do it lol.

its 100% doable!
i got a 1500ish just after my sophomore year and a 1800 in the mid-junior year!
practice practice and practice.
that notebook suggestion is pretty impressive.(1st page of this thread- notebook to jot down the concepts etc?)
i am aiming for a 2200+ this may too, and i think practice and SMART study is the answer. like practicing and checking what i did wrong and why.
dont let people tell you that its not possible.
good luck! :)

Yes, it is very possible to improve your scores significantly. And unless you can concentrate and focus well on your own and prefer books to tutors I suggest you do try a prep course because I improved from an 1800 (on a diagnostic test) to 2310 on my March SAT. I took C2 which I highly recommend if it’s around your area. I cannot speak for the other centers but I’m sure they are not so different. Hope this helped and good luck!
