<p>This might not be a clear question, but does anyone know of any particular fields or careers that might be considered independent, as in your job depends solely on your own performance, with little teamwork involved, and you are not pandering to an audience. I'm trying to figure out how best to word what I'm trying to say, but I find joy in sitting down and doing work for the work itself, not for some external goal....anyone get what I'm getting at?</p>
