Independent Interdisciplinary Majors?

Anyone have any information/experience with this? Admittedly, now that I’m accepted, I’ve somehow become -completely- clueless as to what I want to study. As in, I have no idea at all. I have way too many interests. I know that Brandeis has a really open curriculum (let’s just say I’ve figured out how to triple major with no AP credit). But I really, really don’t know.

I think the IIS program would be great for me…if I don’t study something completely obtuse and esoteric I can see myself in like poli com or policy or something. For which I would love IIS. So, anyone know about it? What’s the preparation for a proposal, how difficult is it to get it passed, etc.

I’m not really expecting any answers…but i thought I’d put it out there.

I really don't know anyone whose done it, but all I can say is that I wish I could devise a way to make my triple major more concretely into an II major so I could pick up other, less practical majors as well. :P

Don't worry about knowing what you want to do. I know people who in semester 1 have gone from wanting to be neurosurgeons to becoming a English majors (and in fact, my advisor went from pre-med to history in college). What I've learned to do is use clubs more for exploring my interests as much as possible and majors and minors that are my more lucrative interests.

But really, don't worry about going in not knowing what to do. Everyone will tell you that but it's really true.

Also, if you're going into politics, try to get a class with Robert Art. He's amazing. It's a long way off but just something to throw out there. :P
