Indian (CBSE) students at McGill

Hi gyz!

I’ve applied for the Major Entrance scholarship at McGill and wanted to know about the stats of Indian students who received it previously.

So, if you are (or you know some?) an Indian student from CBSE board currently at McGill with the major entrance scholarship, please let me know your CGPA/Percentage in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th mid terms (or whatever you sent them while applying). It’d be helpful in knowing if I have a chance or not!

Thanks :slight_smile:

@HelloWorld123 hiii! I applied for it but got rejected. I had a percentage of 93.2.

@Abcd16
Hey!
Did you apply for it this year??

Also, in which class did you have 93.2% ? 10th or 11th?

@HelloWorld123 yes, i applied for it this year. I had a percentage of 93.2 in my class 12th. Cgpa: 9.8 in 10th and 89% in grade 11th. My major scholarship status say “not awarded” but i was given the One year scholarship. I hope this helps.
What faculty are you applying to?

@Abcd16 Oh, I’m still in 12th, so probably they’ll consider my 10th and 11th class %ages (93.6% in 10th and 95.2% in 11th).
I’ve applied for BA and BA&Sc. Will do CS with Math (most probably).

What about financial aid, did you apply for it? Any idea how generous is McGill regarding it?

@HelloWorld123 I have no idea about the financial aid. The most cases i have seen on internet getting major entrance scholarship are the applicants from the management.
McGill also asks for the first term and final results for the grade 12th. Your decision won’t be solely made on your grade 10th or 11th.
Wishing you all the best for your boards.?

@HelloWorld123 what is your application status right now?

@Abcd16 Currently, my application status is “Further Review Required.” It changed from “Ready to Review” to FRR a few days after applying (they required TOEFL/IELTS scores) and has been FRR since then.

Today, two reference letters appeared on my checklist (did that happen to you as well?), so I believe that my application is under review rn.

And tysm for your wishes!!

@HelloWorld123 I would suggest you to sumit your IELTS result as soon as possible because the last date for the documentation submission is March 15 (app.). Yes, the letter of references you sent to the university will appear in your checklist.

Yea, I sent TOEFL scores a day after FRR appeared. I believe it would remain at FRR until I get a decision.

@HelloWorld123 Wish you luck for your application and boards. ?

@Abcd16
Hey, so I got in finally. Scholarship is in-process.
How many days did it take for you to get scholarship decision? And were you informed about minor one year scholarship along with/in your acceptance letter, or some days after it (cuz my letter doesn’t say anything about scholarships)?
