indian mountain or rumsey hall

i would greatly appreciate any opinions on either/both of these! how well do they prepare their students for secondary school? what is the “personality” of the school and/or of the students generally (if that is even possible to describe)?
we are considering for our daughter. i have read old posts but was hoping for current information. thank you for your response!

Our son is currently at IMS and we have been very happy with the place. It depends on what you want. IMS is more laid back I think than Rumsey. K1 had a bad 8th grade and this was a chance for him to rebuild. The classes have been challenging and he is in a position to go to a great secondary school. It has worked for our family.

I met a current Berkshire student from IMS and a parent from IMS at Berkshire school revisit. The parent was revisiting Berkshire, Milbrook, Loomis and Tabor. They were not accepted at Hotchkiss as 27 kids from IMS applied to Hotchkiss. A few years ago I met a tour guide at Choate who was from Rumsey Hall. So I suppose both prepare the students well for secondary schools.

FWIW, a number of Berkshire faculty send their kids to IMS (and there are several private school options in the area, but IMS seems to be the school of choice for those not wanting the nearby public elementary/middle school).

K1 is headed to St. George’s.

thank you very much for taking the time to respond-- and all of the info you provided was much appreciated!
