1) Someone expressed concern about sending midyear grades to MIT - don't worry as the selection process has begun only for domestic applicants so far. Read up on matt's blog, he has clarified that the Mid Year is required and will be reviewed.

2) Welcome neha! Log back more often (we need more, let's say, "people like you" ;) @ adides)

3) Guys, after much deliberation I've decided not to write a deferral letter to Princeton.

yeah, whtever...i cant post it here and NOT be banned from cc, so we'll just tlk abt it @ pton (when u visit me :p)

i tipped off roger so ben could be made college rep :) yeah i'm proud of myself

so how was the interview akash...

merc you mean deferral reversal letter :p

who is roger??? the dooley guys who shut of our post???
which coll is he from??

just got back from interview....breaked the 30-min mark....thankfully... how important is this interview anyway?

the guy you protested to about closure of the indian post

mishra...interviews will only help/break u if u on the fence...they dont carry as much weight coz of the subjectivity factor

not very impo mishra... from what i hear only extremities make a difference... best interviewed... worst interviewed

merc you mean deferral reversal letter
If I get accepted by any stroke of luck, I'll send them a letter saying "I've decided to defer a decision to enroll at Princeton until the fall of 2005."

Of course I was drunk when I posted that message :o Intls dont need to send MidYearReport if they're not in a US school system.

thnx for clarificatn..i started to panic there for a min....itz juz me...on edges these days......[alevels] results out soon....... oh ya, i have heard some stuff abt some reputable indian coll/uni havin fixed quota for nri students...is it true?? any one knows anythign abt it or where i can get more info??

as long as u have $$$s there is an nri quota (or can create 1 for u) at most indian colls

Personally, I hate any forms of quotas and wouldn't apply at a place which had them, even if it helped me. (MIT is different).

About NRI quotas, you can ask hello - he seems to know a lot about this stuff.

"MIT: adi, hello,
Harvard: nomad, akash, astrix
Princeton: such, merc, me""

err....from an old post..hehe...sorry i dunno how to quote properly....lol
well it seems soem of these ppl seem pretty confident of their chances.... mind sharing some of thier statistics if okay wif these ppl...juz to get an idea.....thnx

LOL!!!
we were just speculating!! But I hope it does come true :D

1) to quote, you wrap it up in [ quote ] and / quote . To add the poster's name, the first tag will be [ quote = person ].

2) Being confident is always more desirable than panicking. Consider me - 1250/640/730/710. Done laughing? I was deferred by Princeton. Sucharita - 1600/800/800/780. Deferred by Harvard. What does that mean? :)

IMO Akash has the best shot at HYPSM.

Closely followed by Adi, Merc, Astrix, Sucharita & nomad (sorry If I left out anyone :o)
Me I'm frankly quite happy with UIUC :)
