nomad have you noticed how all tamilians are named after gods/goddesses? my mom for example shares the same first name with half of TNs female population :p

My friend you got the likely letter from Yale had 1570 and 2360. He has also participated in IPhO and has published some research with his physics teacher. He is extremely intelligent.

I have 3 other people from my school who are applying as well. 2 of them have 1500+, 2300+ and one of them is our school’s head-captain. The 3rd person has 1450 and I think something around 1450 (don’t know exact score). But the 3rd person has super ECs. She is involved in everything in the community.

Other than that, I know that there are many applicants from Bombay every year with stellar stats, ECs, etc. Usually, Harvard ends up recruiting the squash champion from Bombay every year (they have done it 4 out of 6 last years), so that is another seat gone (off the approximately 5, ritz got one, squash guy will get one, three remains).

Astrix, thank you for not using any of your other screen names :-) hopefully, people will start taking me as a real person.
Nomad, I just used theindianthread because I did not want to think too much about my screen name and honestly, I did not want to use ‘prem’ as my screen name.
Premanjali, I am going to skip your question about my name and the coincidence of Sucharita starting the thread. Although, I would admit that there is something about a 1600 that I admire. ;-)

Which colleges did you get interviews from? I had interviews from MIT, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Duke and UPenn.

As Sucharita has already mentioned, SAT is a starred word on this thread so please don't use it anymore

And there was no question about interviews on the Princeton app form. I remember it word-to-word. There were three questions about interviews on the Harvard supplement.

oh so I got an interview and they didnt. nice :D

so tru almost everyone is named after an alternate name of some god or godess. Take my family for example, dad name after vishnus'incarnate, me ganesh and my mom has the same name as hanuman's mother. Only my bro is named after an abstract quality ..

btw TiT ( i am too lazy to use full name) , if you are for real then umm ssorry you got a rough reception frm us. lol we didnt mean to be mean :)

btw such didnt you get your 100th post a week back :)

btw such didnt you get your 1000th* post a week back

best of luck!

So how was everyone's first board exam? :)

u seem happy... ur's went well? :)

Anyone finished their physics exam on time?

My dear shash..great to know I have company..:)

I must have left out some 6 marks, all because of that stupid optics question

I wasted 15 min. on the diffraction ques.... I started off, drew the wavefront, the diagram for diffraction, then realized I didn't know the diffraction thing that well-I had to start all over again with the polarization ques.

I finished, but just realized I made a mistake.. :(

set 3?...........

nomad...dont u feel so good not taking these exams? I feel so laid back...seeing these people suffer while I chill :p
