<p>I am online because my Physics notes are all on the comp and I've run out of paper so I cant print them.</p>
<p>I cannot ask friends about Zener breakdown coz they refuse to answer my questions before the exam, saying that it makes them hyper. Of course its never the same case when the ask me questions :mad:
But that's OK because I like talking anyway :)</p>
<p>Anyway, you're right. No point wasting time on it now. I'm moving on instead to the wonderfully fascinating topic of <em>gasp</em> photometry! Now why did I leave this one fro the last minute...</p>

<p>Zener devices have a much smaller potential barrier andd therefore breaks down with battery voltage itself. The depletion zone is too small and limits the voltage across a zener to values much smaller than what is needed for avalanche.</p>
