I want to pick 1 of these 2 and they seem to be very similar to me..
SAT1: 2070
SAT2: 2370
Contribution: maximum 30k/year
Major in Business
International student
Can you give me an overview of the neighborhood of these 2 schools? Which one do you prefer?
Thank you sooo much for reading this! I really need help!

For a major in business Indiana is better, Kelley is a fantastic school ranked top 15 for their Finance major.

If your GPA is high enough, you can be eligible for the scholarship that Indiana provides, but I’m not sure if you can go to either of these schools for 30k a year, given that they’re large publics and most of their FA goes to in-state students. But you can still try to get a merit scholarship from either of these schools (but I’m pretty sure it won’t get you the deal that you’re aiming for).

You might want to look at smaller private schools which are more able to spend money on top international students.

thank you soooo much! I’ll take that into consideration :)

International students will very often be hard-pressed to find any form of scholarships and financial aid at public universities. Especially at large ones like Indiana and UIUC, it’s very very rare and only goes to the very very top international students. Even if they do grant you a scholarship, it won’t be enough for you. IIRC the largest merit scholarship that Indiana grants to international students is 9,000 a year and that’s not nearly enough to cut tuition down to 30,000. I’d suggest you start looking at smaller schools, and with smaller private schools, they’re more likely to grant you a larger financial aid package.

I’d probably suggest taking a look at Bentley University and Babson College, both very small business schools which would probably offer very generous financial aid packages to you (just looking at your SAT score).

Your budget is going to be a problem.

Int’l students have to show that they have funds in order to get their visa. Funds have to cover tuition, room, board, books, int’l travel, and personal expenses. For these schools, that’s going to be much higher than your $30k budget.

Those schools do not give financial aid to int’l students.

You need to apply to schools that are either cheaper or will give you merit for your stats.

Did you apply to ANY schools that give big merit to int’ls but had Dec 1st deadlines???

I would visit the schools and see which you like. Neither is really better than the other, so it should come down to $ and personal choice.

^ And you’ll send the $ so the OP can visit??

^ what? Seriously? If the OP can’t travel to a school to check it out, he or she definitely shouldn’t be investing in that institution. Who would invest in an institution they have never visited? That is asinine.

FYI on Illinois –> without scholarships, which are hard for OOS and international, its over 35k/year, not including travel.
