Indiana University Dorms

So I recently got accepted into IU and I want to fill out the housing form so I don't get shafted later. I'm a good student (4.00 GPA, 30 ACT) but I do like to have fun, I just also want to study. I'm an intended Business major. What is the right neighborhood and dorm for me? Also, can I pick the exact dorm if I apply to live on an academic floor?

You should post this in the Indiana University forum to get better answers from people who actually attend the university.

I don’t go to IU but I know a little bit about it. (not sure if this info is 100% accurate but it might be helpful.) I believe freshmen can only choose their preference of neighborhood, not dorm. However, if you applied for Honors floor + preference of neighborhood, you would pretty much know which dorm you would end up in because there’s only 1 in each neighborhood. My advice is to apply for an Honors floor in Central neighborhood (I believe you would end up in Teter dorm, if the Honors locations haven’t changed from last year. It’s a pretty good dorm for freshmen and many of my friends who lived on the Honors floor liked it.) Central has the best general location. Northwest is the party neighborhood. South also has a dorm with Honors floor but the location isn’t as nice as Central (I believe you would end up in either Forrest or Reed, can’t remember which).

Thanks that helped alot!!
