Accepted at kelley school undergrad at indiana university, UF honors and the undergrad management school at University of Miami....

I am a florida resident, have prepaid college plan as well as bright futures scholarship. Also received about $20,000 a year merit scholarship to indiana university.

Interested in business (obviously) but not sure what area of business....not sure where I want to live....

Can you give us
(tuition+ R&B) - (grants+scholarships) =
for each school ?
What’s your parents’ budget?

UF tuition is $6630 and room/board is $9630. Tuition and room and board would be paid for by the prepaid florida plan. I also have a Bright futures scholarship which would add about $3,000 a year in scholarship money which would mean i could use $3000 to pay school fees and books.

Indiana university tuition is $32,350 plus $9160 for room and board. The prepaid florida plan would pay about $10,000 for the first two years and then $3,800 for the next two years. I also have a renewable yearly scholarship of about $16,000.

So UF would be pretty much free while IU Kelley school of business tuition and room and board would cost $15,510 for first two years and then about $20,000 plus the added expense of flights to and from florida.

My parents told me I can go to either school…

What about UM (to have the complete picture)?
IU Kelley for 15k would be a great bargain. It’s one of the top public business schools in the country. (Congratulations on being a direct admit, it’s really not easy).
However UF Honors probably offers more opportunities outside of business proper (for business, Kelley is better, but the Honors perks are nice both academically and professionally. it’ll give you a different experience than what the “typical” UF student has).
If you go to UF, will the “saved” money be set aside for something else, such as unpaid internship in an expensive city, study abroad…?
I believe that all FL students must take classes during one summer: how would you handle that? would that be a plus or a minus for you?
Where would you like to settle and find a job - in Florida and in the South, or in the Midwest or NYC/Chicago?
Do you want to go and discover another part of the country or are you afraid of the snow and would rather live in Florida weather?

UM would cost about $15,000 a year after deducting prepaid and merit scholarship monies.

I also got accepted to the Honor program at IU…

Dont know where i want to live. Might be florida, nyc or chicago…

Confident i will enjoy the undergrad business school as opposed to a liberal arts major.

If you got into Honors AND Kelley and your parents are okay with the 15k pricetag, Kelley is a fantastic bargain for your career goals. If you’re not reluctant to leave FL to discover another part of the country, I’d pick Kelley.
Whatever you do, you may want to come back and post again on the website to explain your dilemma and how it turned out.
Any reason why you discounted UM (it’s nationally-ranked, and private which all could be pluses do wondering what the minuses are and whether that may help in deciding for or against your other choices)?

I discounted UM because UF i think would be a better choice than UM…

I have a lot of friends in Kelly & they love it. A great network if you want to pursue Business & the campus is beautiful

Go to IU if u want to do business. Got to be 100% though. More flexibility in changing at UF
