Indiana Univesity Kelley-Direct admit appeal

Recently, I have applied for an appeal for the Kelley Direct Admit program. I could not get into the business school because my sat score could not meet the requirement of 1270 by 30 points. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I have a good chance of being admitted.... I just cannot do well on standarized tests...

Rank: 7/555
GPA: 99.78 weighted for second semester senior

Extracurriculars
Tennis, FBLA- Business Plan top 10 national award, volunteer at senior citizen center etc.

Also...I have a B average in ap calc, ap physics, and ap english
do you think i will get rescinded if i do get rejected? cause the minimum gpa requirement is 3.5 (90). I have like high A's in 2 other honors business courses.

Is there any other reason besides "you cannot do well on standardized tests" you think you should be a direct admit? The scores and GPA are pretty set. Just work hard your first year to get the GPA you need for Kelley admission during your next years.

I don't think your admission will be rescinded for appealing.

It does seem there have been a couple of threads on the topic here at the IU forum. I would recommend a search.

will i get rescinded for these grades if I do get accepted?
Also, I want to get into direct admit because I don't want to fall behind the top students at IU

please answer

If I am reading your post correctly, you are worried that B's in a few honors classes this semester could get your admittance to IU rescinded if you try to appeal your Kelley decision.

I do not think this is something you need to worry about. If they were D's, that would be a different story.

Go ahead and appeal. It can't hurt you. But, given your apparent desire to do well, it should not be that difficult for you to maintain a good gpa and enter Kelley the traditional way.

Agree with IllinoisMom.

You clearly have the determination to succeed. There is always more than one way to get somewhere. One thing that you will have going for you over some direct admits is that you will have stared a disappointment in the face and found a way around it. This is a valuable life skill and business skill. Kids who have always gotten just what they hoped for may also do well in life, but they haven't been tested. You have and your persistence, combined with your smarts, will serve you well.
