Hi everyone. I was wondering if Harvard gives any early indication of acceptance, not through likely letters but through emails or through other forms of communication. For example, I received several emails from Dartmouth in January, one of which was an invitation to an online financial aid open house and the other emails were in regards to my financial status. In March, Dartmouth gave me a likely letter. If Harvard does give a heads up, by what sort of channels? Thanks everyone!

Dartmouth gave those to everyone I think… unless you got a likely letter from Harvard, I doubt it. If Dartmouth didn’t send those letters to everyone … then i’m feeling happy! haha.

Whoaness, can you clarify what you doubt and what you are feeling happy about. Thanks.

Haha… my bad. I doubt that they send out any indications other than likely letters. If you didn’t get one, then no early indication, but you still could be accepted.
And I’m happy because I too received the same emails as you, just no likely letter. So if those emails are an early indications then I’m happy, as I applied to Dartmouth as well.

i dont think this is an indication but the director of admissions, marlyn mcgrath, replied to my letter twice. i sent her two different letters “selling” myself for admissions. she pretty much said, “thank you for the additional info… blah blah. we will consider these information in making our final decision. blah blah blah” or words to these effect…

at least, she replied to me… :D

If you see your shadow when you wake up tomorrow morning, you’ll be accepted. If you don’t see your shadow, you’ll be rejected. If you forget to check, you’ll be waitlisted. Quasi-parodies of Groundhog’s day for the win!

muhahahha. i love that way of checking. it’s going to be a sunny say tomorrow morning… so I doubt I won’t see my shadow!

Neonseri, can you share that email correspondence. Thanks.

^ i said mail, not email…

i will post it later here… im out of my home state right now. imma ask my sister to take a picture of it or something ^_^

Yes I also received a financial aid problem email from the school I was accepted to EA.
It also showed up on another school’s automatic online tracking page, but I was ultimately rejected.

I haven’t heard from Harvard. Does this mean I’m rejected too? =(

^ I’m almost positive Harvard waits to send out financial aid information with our acceptance packages. The only “indication of acceptance” besides the email itself would be the 200 or so “likely” letters sent out yearly to extremely qualified academic/athletic candidates.

hahahah i think “hopefulfor2014” is like a robot

@ motion
I should probably sleep with the lights on then.
