Influential Person Supplement - Must be someone I know personally?

For the supplement question on an influential person, does the person have to be someone you know personally? I have a historical figure in mind, but does that follow the prompt?

Please help!

That’s fine.

it should be okay, just make sure you don’t end up writing your whole essay about how great that person is. this might seem obvious, but sometimes people end up not really answering the prompt correctly.

focus on HOW that person influences YOU.

“You’ll want to connect that person to your own life and use him or her to talk about the person who you are.”
