any one going this weekend to accepted students?

I'm going the following weekend 12th

I'm an accepted student, and I'm going this Saturday. La Salle, along with Bryn Mawr, is one of my top choices.

what do you like about this school? Can't make it either weekends - am working... did you receive any aid?

Not the best location in Philly but heard it has great connections. Generous to me with the financial aid (scholarships & grants) How about you?

my son received a 6,000 founders scholarship, no other aid. have heard the school is good, division 1 sports and they are in the middle of a huge expansion. a friend's son went there years ago and loved it. the neighborhood is considered rough and you probably won't want to wander around at night off campus alone.

we are going on saturday 4/5 for accepted students day. if anyone needs me to ask questions or look for something in particular, let me know.

good luck to everyone.

La Salle offered me a very generous financial aid package. I'm going this Saturday and I'm interested in the American Studies program.

hazeleyedgirl - please ask about their premed program. Thanks! Check out the neighborhood.

So what did you think of the school? I am going next Saturday, anything I should know in advance? Did you take the tour of the city?

loved the school. the neighborhood is dicey but fine in the immediate area. did not go on the tour but did drive around a bit. security looks good and you can take a shuttle to the subway and then 2 stops to center city.

kids looked like they were having fun. lots of sports and things to do. biggest dorm room we have seen yet. did not get to sample the cafeteria food as they had a finger food lunch in another area.

it is high on my son's list right now.

sorry did noit ask about pre-med. they had a separate presentation for that.

Did you love the school or your son? What dorm did you see? Was it one for freshman?

I went to the Accepted Students day as well. I liked La Salle, but I didn't bother with the tour because I'm from the Philadelphia region. La Salle is about 30 min (maybe more with traffic) from home. I really liked the Honors Program and the Honors dorms, but I didn't take a fresh look at the other dorms. My recollection from a past visit is that the dorms were average size and co-ed by floor.

I liked the Opening Ceremony and the Academic Fair. There were a lot of people, but they helped you to get a feel for the school. They had three smaller break out sessions. The final two were good, but Admissions dropped the ball during the first session I attended. There was a mix up with the room, and Admissions didn't inform everyone when they fixed the problem, so people didn't know that the session had started.

La Salle is still one of my top choices, however.

Our whole family loved the school. there are no freshman only dorms, they are mixed between years, and co-ed. i would think the upperclassmen live in the apartments mostly.

we saw the dorm nearest to the library i think. it is all a little bit of a blur. we saw a double room, quads were not available to look at.

we walked by the dorms located near the fitness center and some kids were screaming out the window. there was a lacross game in progress and then softball or baseball.

no cars on campus for freshman, but i don't think you need one.
