hi there, am a Ghanaian who has gained a scholarship to study in the US. I will like to study medicine but i have been told i have to first be a pre med student pass my mcat then i could enter medical school .... but my scholarship is just for 4 years, so could anyone out there help me know more abt the system, more about premed course that are available and can help me get into medical school.

Very short version: International students cannot study medicine in the US.

Long version: most American medical schools do not accept international applicants. The few who do require you to have anywhere from $100,000 to $400,000.
You should study something else, such as engineering, computer science, applied math, statistics… there are lots of subjects you can study where you’ll be able to continue with your studies, oftentimes “funded” (meaning that if you get a BA with a high GPA, research experience, etc, you’ll be able to attend graduate school for free.)
Your first year in college you’ll be able to choose many different courses: take advantage of this, explore fields you’d be most interested int.
Finally, CONGRATULATIONS! It’s EXCEEDINGLY difficult for an international student to get into a US college when they need financial aid, so you must have been an exceptional applicant.
