Hi everyone, I lurk this forum quite frequently however this is my first time posting. I am an undergraduate currently majoring in business, but not sure which field yet. I am leaning towards accounting since I am in calculus for business and have a 93%; I also enjoy that class. My first accounting classes will be taken this coming fall (managerial, financial), so that will be my first experience with it. To get to the point, my intro to business class tonight talked about information systems. I never knew this was a business field but after tonight I really seemed like I would enjoy it, also because a speaker who majored in IS shared his experiences on the job. I started college as a compsi major, but did not enjoy math or programming at the time. I used to be lazy and unmotivated though so that may have been the issue there. The reason I say that is because I love working with computers, technology, etc. but I also enjoy business.

My questions are:
Is information systems a good major?
Will I be struggling looking for a job after college?
Are the advancements in this field good?
Would possibly trying the compsci major be better? (Assuming I enjoy the math and programming)

What I may do is stay with accounting and see how I like it next fall. My school has a GREAT accounting program-

2800+ accounting alumni
70+ accounting alumni with partner status
98% education satisfaction rating
Top 10 in the nation Uniform CPA exam score
Rated as a Top 10 school with high pass rates for first time CPA exam takers

So I know if I get a degree in this I will have no problem with a job. I am just not sure if I love it yet. Sometimes I feel like CIS is just an easy version of compsci.

Also the money is not my main focus, but I do want to have a good paying job. I know if I get into something I love I will make good money, since I am extremely self motivated (masters degree, MBA, whatever certifications). Maybe I just answered my own question there.

Thanks a lot everyone.
