Hello guys,

My first post here :-) I have been admitted to the M.S. in Information Technology program at RPI, Fall 2007. The program is primarily focussed in CS and allied areas. Concentrations range from Software Design, Networking, Database Systems to Bioinformatics and MIS.

Can anyone add a few thoughts on how good this program is (Aid/Industry perception/Career Prospects/Anything else)? Any info would be just wonderful :-)

Thanks.

Congrats on your acceptance! I can't even begin to describe how good that program is. Getting a well-rounded core of courses plus getting a concentration in which you specialize in any area you want is awesome. Consistently the IT students get multiple job offers and they are in very high demand. Contrary to popular belief that you can't get a job in this field, 3 out of the top 5 areas in which the most jobs can be found in the US are IT related jobs. The fact that people don't really understand what exactly IT is and what it has to offer has hurt the programs numbers, but they are rebuilding every year. It really is an awesome program so I hope you make the most of it.
