Initial Acceptance Rates - Class of 2015

You know, RML. this is getting ridiculous and tiresome. You apologize for one ad hominem and follow with another one in the SAME sentence. What is with your obsession with having to paint Cal in the best light possible, and your repeated allegation of my hatred? I believe that I have asked you several times to point to my “offensive comments” about Cal. So here it is: put or … shut up.

I have no idea about the intention of this thread is. As far as I know, it provides a ranked list of the admission rates. Why don’t you ask the person who started this thread? In the meantime, the statistics I added to the list are correct. As I wrote, contact UCOP and share your concerns with them. I simply reproduced what UC posted online.

And why are YOU telling ME this? Am I supposed to provide running commentaries and complete data analysis of the finer points of admissions?

Just as I told UCB, KNOCK YOURSELF OUT. If you feel there is important information to be shared about waitlists, start a new thread about it. I don’t think you ever needed my permission to start your prestige and other similar threads!

And, for the record, do you believe that my past comments about the extensive use of ED and wait lists has been in the spirit of “protecting the privates?” Have you ever read what I wrote on this issue when it comes to, for example, Duke? Including in THIS thread in post 20?

Have I been protective of Columbia’s and Penn’s games? Do I applaud WUSTL FYEO practices? Do I believe schools such as Wellesley should be more forthcoming? Do you think the Midd’s fanboys are happy with my comments about their talent to obfuscate data? And the list goes on!

I believe in accurate, transparent, and timely release of admission’s data. I understand that this may annoy people who like selective and arbitrary listings! And, again, this is what I posted earlier:

What is your version of correct statistics?

Where would I find the Class of 2015 acceptance rates for LMU (Loyola Marymount Los Angeles) and Occidental College?

Many thanks!

This is a very interesting thread. How come Reed College has not made an appearance on this list though?

RML, it may surprise you that great swathes of the country don’t “hate” Berkeley. They’re just indifferent to it. Which to you is the unkindest cut, as you cannot fathom someone not bowing down and touching the ground at the mere mention of Berkeley. Give it up. It’s a fine school. There are lots of fine schools. It’s not the best school for everyone in all circumstances.
