Initial Screening Test Help!

I’m trying to apply to USMA and I’ve taken one SAT in May. My score is 1680 (R:500, M:590, W:590) and I know it’s definitely not competitive. I’m retaking the SAT in November and taking first round of ACT on Oct 24. I see they require me to enter my SAT score as part of the Candidate Questionnaire. However, as I already said, my score is poor. I’m wondering if I don’t receive an official candidate status for admission because of my poor SAT score, whether I’ll be granted another chance to improve (SAT/ACT score, for example) and fill out Candidate Questionnaire again to pass initial screening test and obtain official candidate status. Should I go ahead and submit my Candidate Questionnaire although my current SAT score is poor or should I wait until I receive my new scores from October ACT/November SAT (assuming I would improve) and then submit the Candidate Questionnaire with new (higher) scores? Please don’t post any discouraging or offensive comment please. I’m working hard to improve. I’m also wondering if living in a US territory has any influence on my chance. Also, does living in a US territory has any influence on my chance? Thank you for taking your time to answer my question.

Can someone help me on this please?

It sounds as if you are a high school senior right? If so, you have both the Academy’s candidate questionaire and a congressional appointment to worry about. When will your Novemeber scores be available?

Thank you so much for replying. Yes, I am a current senior and I just took the ACT yesterday and will retake the SAT on November 7. I’m not sure how long does the ACT take to send the scores out but it says on the ACT website that “If you took the ACT with writing, your writing scores will be posted online as soon as they are ready, normally about 2 weeks after your multiple-choice scores. Your scores are not officially reported until your writing scores have been added.” Since I took the ACT with Writing, I’m guessing it’ll probably take about 4 weeks. I know that SAT score comes out about two weeks after the test date, so it’ll come out around November 21.

That timing should work
