Innovation Academy

I was just on the UF site for instutional planning and research. It looks like innovation accepts almost everyone that applies. I was shocked but it must be true, right?

@Trisherella Lol

I"m not sure if the number of applicants is correct (the whole IA think is very different from normal admissions), but it may be. It is much easier to gain acceptance via IA. They have X number of slots, and will make offers to fill those slots. Since they seam to have more than enough slots available, compared to the number that apply, it could lead to a very high acceptance rate.

Doesn’t seem right, based on nothing but my sense that it doesn’t seem right.

I have a feeling that there is a lot more to the story than the chart shows. I think I recall hearing that regular admissions does the initial vetting and then sends it over to IA Admissions for the final cut. If so, maybe the “applicant” number is the post General admissions number.

It was wrong! I emailed innovation and they told me the numbers were wrong and them pulled them from the website. It did seem a little crazy.

Excellent watchdoggery.

So I went back in and looked again . On the admissions table if you choose UF Main for student category and student subtype, first time in college for type and spring for cohort group, you are still at 99% admitted. Incoming freshman applying for spring and not online or Pace. Isn’t that only innovation?

@Gator88NE and @GatorDad305 . do you think this is accurate? I have a family member that wants to go to UF and it seems to me like innovation accepts almost all applicants. That isn’t what admissions says, but this chart supports it.? What do you think ?

The most recent admissions annual report on the UF website says 1852 applied and 599 were accepted to IA. About 32%. My guess is that number holds true for the past few years. Everyone who checks that box doesn’t get in.
