Is admissions now offering innovation to people that didn’t apply for it? The website reads “ The Office of Admissions considers all applicants for the IA admission, Summer B admission and Fall admission.” I always thought you had to apply for innovation directly?
Link?
So you could be offered admission to innovation even if you didnt list interest in it on your application? What if you put down an intended major that isn’t available with innovation, could you still be selected for it??
@flprepaidmom That graphic is certainly a topic for conversation. It suggests that a kid who didn’t apply for innovation academy could be placed there. Very interesting. @Gator88NE have you seen this?
@GatorDad305 I feel like maybe that is new for this year?
It looks like they are treating IA like PACE and the state college partnership programs, “If you want to be a Gator, here is your path”.
I would imagine that the intended major specified by the applicant would be offered in IA, or UF would not offer IA to him/her.
The other interesting aspect of this is that IA applicants are supposed to have an additional essay. So, those that they offer IA to who did not express interest in IA would not have completed this additional essay.
@flprepaidmom No, you are on the Innovation Academy website - all of those students are considered for all terms. Some will be admitted to summer/fall and if they’d rather do IA then they can tell us. Many will be admitted to IA only but they would have been considered for all terms which is what their website is trying to say.
You still have to apply to IA and complete the additional essay on the app (for IA).
